On the Rostocklaan in Bussum, this stately detached home from 1914 was thoughtfully reimagined following a complete strip-back. While the original floors could not be preserved, the spatial layout remained largely intact—allowing the house’s strong architectural foundation to guide the renovation.
The design returned to a language true to the home’s origins, reintroducing a sense of craftsmanship and authenticity. A newly poured terrazzo floor, warm tonal layers, and carefully considered detailing bring depth and character, while contemporary refinements lend clarity and comfort.
Rooted in tradition yet expressed with a modern hand, the result is a home that honours its history while feeling entirely suited to present-day living.
