On the leafy Dr. Dirk Bakkerlaan in Bloemendaal, this expansive 1930s home was reimagined for clients returning to the Netherlands from abroad. With a clear sense of their own style, the brief focused on refinement—creating a house that feels timeless, grounded, and true to its architectural character.

Stripped back and carefully rebuilt, the design balances heritage and contemporary comfort. Original proportions guided the layout, while subtle architectural interventions improved light, flow, and function for modern family life.

A rich yet restrained material palette defines the interior: warm woods, natural stone, soft mineral finishes, and tailored textiles. Bespoke joinery brings cohesion throughout, complemented by brushed metals and handcrafted details that add quiet depth.

A home designed to feel effortless and enduring, where every detail supports a sense of calm, continuity, and belonging.
